What We Do: Our Projects
The Junior League organizes and manages many fundraisers throughout the year. Because our League is volunteer-based, almost every dollar earned through these efforts is allocated to our community projects and grants.
Current Projects
These are just a few examples of how we are currently helping the Kalamazoo community:
- Pretty Lake Vacation Camp has been a signature project of the JLK since the 1930′s. Pretty Lake provides a residential summer camp experience for over 700 children in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades each summer free of charge. PLVC Radio Interview
- Kids in the Kitchen is a league-wide initiative designed to address the urgent issues surrounding childhood obesity and poor nutrition.
- In collaboration with Memories Bridal & Evening Wear, the Cinderella Project provides gently used gowns and accessories to referred junior and senior high school girls in the Kalamazoo area.
